PARTNER

François-Xavier Morency

M. Morency has a degree in Chemical engineering and has previously spent 16 years as an expatriate for Schlumberger - in an increasingly complex array of management and business development roles. His assignments covered North Africa, South America and the Southern US.

From 2015, François-Xavier Morency has been involved with global shipping giant A.P.Møller-Mærsk as Managing Director of the Canadian operations of Supply Service. In addition to the overall business management of the Canadian operations, he spearheaded business development in US and Mexico. He has extensive networks within the oil and shipping industry, both locally and internationally.

Now semi-retired, he spends his time investing and managing assets on behalf of his, and few select families. To satisfy his curious mind, he continues his education and personal development in finance and investments.

He spends a great deal of time traveling. He his passionate by wine and food and love spending time in the backcountry skiing, snowmobiling and hiking. He speaks several languages and made Newfoundland his home in 2010.

Nicole Parsons

Nicole is a human resource professional with over two decades of experience in human resources, labour relations, and people management. Noted for her solid understanding of current labour and employment issues, Nicole has developed the reputation of being a trusted “sounding board” for managers and executives faced with challenges involving people.

Nicole has practiced in both private and public sectors and managed wide portfolios including diversity, engagement, compensation, benefits, payroll, and corporate policies. During her 15 years in the oil and gas industry, Nicole played a key role in collective agreement negotiations, human rights tribunals, arbitrations, and grievance mediations.

Nicole is passionate to advance women in leadership. She keeps a keen eye to and supports women leadership networks, dialogues with people to unravel unconscious bias, and champions gender equity targets wherever the opportunity presents. Along these lines, Nicole has always been a strong leader in terms of ethics, corporate compliance and anti-harassment endeavours.

Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and shortly after became a certified PeopleSoft Consultant during a career opportunity to implement human capital management systems.

Nicole is an active member of her community through not-for-profit organizations. She sits on the Board of Directors for Kids Eat Smart Foundation-NL and is a Board Director with Choices for Youth where she has also served as Board Secretary, Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, and Co-Chair of the Board Governance Committee.

When Nicole isn’t taking on work projects or giving back to her community, she is spending her time with family, friends, travelling, reading, exploring outdoors, or with her hands in a new baking recipe.
